One phone paying £5–7 a day is annoying. Four phones paying it is a holiday expense. A family of four on a typical 7-night Marmaris holiday is looking at roughly £100–200 in roaming charges — and on a 10 or 14-night stay, comfortably more than the cost of the flights’ hold luggage.
Two parents on Vodafone (£6/day each) and two teenagers on Three (£7/day each) for 7 days: (£42 × 2) + (£49 × 2) = £182. That’s before anyone runs over an allowance.
